Support for vulnerable children program

Vietnam is home to over 22,000 children living in orphanages and child protection facilities, many of whom lack consistent access to nutrition, healthcare, and educational resources (UNICEF, 2024). Only around 2% of Vietnamese children with disabilities have access to appropriate educational services (UNICEF, 2022). Reports also show that children in care institutions are at greater risk of neglect, social exclusion, and limited future opportunities (Save the Children, 2023). Many children in Vietnam’s disadvantaged communities — especially those in orphanages, disability centres, and protection facilities — face daily struggles to access even the most basic necessities, from food to health care and learning resources.

our response

This is our most committed and heartfelt program, reflecting the very core of Green Kites’ mission. Through the Support for Vulnerable Children Program, we provide direct aid and partner with local organisations to meet these urgent needs. Our initiatives include in-kind donations, nutritional support, and long-term assistance to orphanages and child protection centres — focusing on infants, children with disabilities, and special needs children — to ensure that some of the country’s most vulnerable receive the care they deserve.

Support for Children with Disabilities

We have committed to long-term support for Nhà Khuyết Tật Đa Dạng (Sunrise Family – Centre for Children with Disabilities) in Buôn Ma Thuột, Đắk Lắk. In 2024, we provided direct aid to the centre by delivering Kimberly-Clark diapers and essential food supplies to support their daily operations. In 2025, upon request, we continued supplying diapers and food to ensure the children’s ongoing care and wellbeing.

Orphanage Support

In 2025, we visited Tân Thành Orphanage in Buôn Ma Thuột, Đắk Lắk, where we delivered treats, dried food, and diapers. These contributions brought a simple joy to the children while also helping to meet their daily care needs.

Donation of Diapers for Neonatal Unit

In 2024, Green Kites secured in-kind donations of 56 boxes of children’s diapers, valued at 57 million VND, from Kimberly-Clark. We personally delivered a large proportion of them to the Neonatal Unit at Buôn Ma Thuột Hospital. Many of the infants cared for in this unit come from poor ethnic minority families. This much-needed support provided essential care for the youngest and most vulnerable newborns in need.

Feeding Aid Program

In 2025, in partnership with Share for Change Charity, we delivered vital nutritional support to over 250 special needs children at the Gò Vấp Child Protection and Nurturing Center. Through this program, children received milk powder, meals and essential nutrients, improving their health, comfort, and overall wellbeing.

Impact

Since 2024, through the Support for Vulnerable Children Program, Green Kites provided essential care to over 350 vunerable children, including premature babies from underpriviledged families, children with disabilities, and orphans. Our program has helped ensure that every child, no matter their circumstances, receives the love, comfort, and support they deserve.
