How do we finance our projects in Vietnam?
We fund our projects through a mix of community-driven initiatives. These include regular fundraising events in the US, Australia, and Vietnam, such as ticketed concerts, art exhibitions, gala dinners, sports events, call for in kind donations, and online campaigns like GoFundMe. We also rely on the generosity of both private and corporate donors who share our vision, and we sell merchandise to raise additional funds.
In the early days, we covered all operating costs from our own pockets. Over time, we’ve been fortunate to build a small but dedicated group of private donors who now fund 100% of our operating expenses. This means that every public donation can go directly to our projects in the field.
We rely on the “snowball effect” to grow our supporter base. Our work speaks for itself, and each year our commitment to transparency inspires support from passionate donors, enthusiastic fundraisers, brand partners, and loyal volunteers—people who, like you, are committed to turning generosity into tangible, lasting impact.

Partnership and Collaboration
We partner.
We always work in partnership with local communities. Before any project begins, we consult with community members to understand their needs and priorities. A preliminary visit is conducted to assess requirements, after which we develop a clear action plan that includes a detailed budget and timeline. This plan is shared and discussed among our team and the local community to ensure transparency, a shared sense of ownership and ensuring long-term sustainability. This collaborative approach has brought to life projects such as building a community library and creating the Fairy Garden for Cư M’gar Kindergarten in Đắk Lắk.
We collaborate.
We collaborate with other charitable organisations to extend our reach and increase our impact, when their programs align closely with ours. These partnerships allow us to touch on our partner’s expertise and combine resources to reach more children and families. For example, in 2024, we collaborated with the Đắk Lắk Charity Association (also called Đắk Lắk Metta Foundation) to distribute more than 500 dental care kits to the community. In 2025, we worked with the Share for Change Charity to support the Feeding Aid Program at the Child Protection and Nurturing Center in Gò Vấp, Ho Chi Minh City. Our joint effort provided nutritional support and meals so these children with severe, debilitating illnesses can have adequate food and nutrients.
We respect local community
We Respect.
Respect is at the heart of everything we do. When we teach, we make sure that every child feels seen, included, and valued. That is why our brochures and learning materials are prepared in both Vietnamese and local ethnic languages, such as H’Mong and Dao. By doing so, we ensure that children can learn in the language they are most comfortable with, while also respecting their cultural identity.

Our promises
Our 100% Promise
From day one, Green Kites has pledged that 100% of public donations go straight to projects for children in Vietnam — from rainwater systems and school supplies to libraries and health programs. Even when transaction fees reduce a gift, we cover the gap so the full amount reaches the field. This is our 100% Promise in action.
We Are On Site and Hands-On
At Green Kites, we do everything ourselves—from start to finish. Even when we collaborate with another organization, we are always on-site, working hand in hand with them. We do not pass donors’ money to a third party. We’re the ones who plan the projects, load the trucks, organise the logistics, dig the holes to plant trees, carry the water tanks, and supervise the installation of the gutters. We’re the ones who sit on the classroom floor with the kids to teach, who hand out dental and hygiene kits one by one, and who help wash little hands at the sinks we’ve installed. When you support us, you can be sure your help goes straight to the children — not into bureaucracy.
